IR receiver: TK 2238 Status: FAIL
Optional Comments: IR receiver extracted from old DVD. The TK in the model name may refer to Telefunken (now Vishay). It appears to be AGC 2 which may not be the best for longer AC infrared signals.

AC Unit: CARRIER brand, the model number is 38MPQ2405
Data Bits: 48 + 48 (96)
IR receiver: TSOP348238 Status: FAIL
Optional Comments: User Aldagoni, reports this receiver can receive intermittently for a selection of AC units (Works sometimes, other times not). Although this receiver can work, we classify it as a FAIL, because it does not work consistently and it is classed as a legacy device by the manufacturer Vishay.

A quick reminder: The classifications in this topic/thread are for longer Air Conditioner Infrared remote control signals only.
Most IR receivers will work fine for TVs and other media devices, as long as the modulation frequency matches)

Data Bits: 144 (288 marks and spaces plus header/trailer)
IR receiver: TSOP1238 Status: FAIL
Optional Comments: Partly works about 20% of time with TSOP1238 on this 144 bit IR protocol. Overall not a great IR receiver for AC signals

IR receiver: 1057 D21B Status: FAIL
Optional Comments: One user reported and inverted signal stream and lots of noise during IDLE. No data sheet availablefor this IR Receiver (avoid for all uses). Ther are lots of issues reported online for this receiver.
